Tips & Tricks
- For success, most roses need at least 4 hours of sun. The more sun, the better the growth and blooms.
- Roses are sold bare-root or potted. Bare-root roses are planted from October to April, potted roses year-round. In October and November, the soil is still warm, helping roses establish before winter.
- Plant some roses in pots (minimum 40 cm deep). Roses love deep roots—once settled, they withstand dry spells.
- Guide climbing roses by tying them gently to supports. Choose arches at least 1.5m wide for easy walking underneath.
